Weather & Scheduling Policies
Most of our rentals go off without a hitch! But for those unexpected instances, here are our policies.
Weather Policy
Boating is an activity enjoyed in all kinds of weather. Cloudy skies, cooler temperatures and rain showers are conditions considered safe for boating.

Weather reschedules or cancellations are not considered until the day of the boat rental as forecasts can quickly change. Please do not reach about weather reschedules more than one day before your rental.

If you are unable to use the boat due to dangerous weather conditions or heavy sustained rain, (actually happening at time of rental, not based on forecast conditions) you can elect to either reschedule at no charge or to receive a full refund less the 2.9% credit card transaction fee.

We recommend that you keep in touch with your hired captain regarding weather. Do not assume your boat rental is cancelled until you receive written confirmation from Chicago Yachting.
Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy
If you are eligible for a weather-related reschedule, send an email to info@chicagoyachting.com to discuss reschedule options. Coordinate the rescheduled date with your captain. If your captain is unavailable we can provide you a new list of captains.

Once the new date and time is confirmed, it can no longer be adjusted.

Cancellations made 14+ days in advance will be refunded less a 5% booking fee. No refunds for cancellations made less than 14 days in advance except for weather.
In the case of rescheduling or cancellation, reimbursement of deposits or payments previously made to the captain are at the discretion of the captain.

Chicago Yachting does not provide partial refunds in cases where the boat returns to the harbor or dock before the end of the charter time.
